Artist Statement

I ask questions about relationships, and systematically test limits. What happens if the rules regarding relationships are changed, will it fundamentally change the outcome, will the resulting artwork be more or less harmonious and why? I exercise control over my artistic process much like a chef does in the perfecting of a recipe, continually adjusting the balance of ingredients and analyzing the results.

I am convinced that technology is a tool not an answer. The answers needed to solve the world’s problems have to come from people. The human intellect is more complex than what can be fed into a computer. There are elements of a spiritual/intuitional nature that can not be confined to an algorithm and it will be through our sensitivities to these intangibles we will find the truths to move forward.

My favorite Artistic Tools:

The pen, the loom, the camera, the brayer, spoon, and the computer.
